The 2015 MVLGA Championships were played at Gog Magog Golf Club on Monday 18th May, in very wet and windy conditions for much of the day. Congratulations to Julie Brown of Trentham GC who won the Championship with a fantastic score of 75 gross. Prizes were presented on the day by our MVLGA President, Jean Johnson.

The tournament attracted a big field of 82 players from 38 clubs, with 76 playing on the day. The course was in superb condition and, considering the dreadful weather, played very well. The greens were particularly good and I understand that the course is built on chalk ,so thankfully drained extremely well. There were lots of positive comments about the course.

Thank you to the Gog Magog staff and members who were all very helpful and added to the smooth running of the competition.

We are now looking forward to the Jamboree at Sherwood Forest Golf Club from August 4th-6th and, with Midlands players holding the first 3 places in the England Golf's Senior Order of Merit, we are in very strong position. Please come and support.
