The Brenda King Foursomes took place on 27th and 28th September, on a very hilly and challenging Clevedon Golf Club course. The Midland Vets taking part did well. The practice day filled us with trepidation; were we going to make all those climbs up and down? The 8th, overlooking the Bristol estuary, was a spectacular hole with a 260 feet descent to the fairway; what a hole!

After day 1, Sue Spencer and Sally Sketcher from Staffordshire were joint leaders on + 4, tied with ex Midland Vet, Pauline Bramley and Carol Simpson from Derbyshire. Andrea Stockdale and Sue Penfold were tied joint 4th on +6. It was all to play for!

With conditions improving and the course looking great , the final positions changed. Jo Shorrocks and Amanda Mayne from the south came in with a fantastic score of +2 and took the title.
